Project Synopsis.
smiTalk™ is one of the flagship products from SMILOG, an international solution provider and integrator of mobile applications for logistics, headquartered in Germany. The smiTalk product is a middleware solution for voice-enabled technologies, that integrates Vocollect by Honeywell® with various WMS and ERP systems, including SAP®.
After an architectural review, the client’s software was refactored to accommodate current business requirements and future product direction goals. The smiTalk software was redeveloped to leverage a new modular design with new features including high performance multithreading, multi-tenant capability and a Graphical User Interface for administration. Software Engineering processes were also enhanced with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) techniques, including updated standards and a Redmine server for product change, support and management.
